Col De polaris

​The area that used to be Rockcliffe Air Force Base is presently under heavy development and will turn into a subdivision over time. Right now though, there's a ton of awesome places to ride and one way in and out of the area is the Col de Polaris. 

This segment seems pretty popular and the KOM is super competitive. I would therefore assume that a lot of people know about it already. Possibly less obvious are some woods that connect to the area up in behind the Montfort Hospital, where there's a couple of single-track loops. 

The hill itself is 500m long and has a peak gradient of 11.5%. The pavement is covered in loose gravel which can make it hard to get out of the saddle I think (I've only gone up it once at time of writing, but down it quite a few times). 

I love the area around here and I would imagine you'll be seeing another couple segments posted here before 2021 is over.
