Location: Hydro Road between Conroy and Albion

Running parallel to Walkley from Conroy to Albion, this segment of Hydro road is handy for connecting to a variety of routes. Here are a couple of examples:

It's essentially a pair of gravel tire tracks with almost no elevation change and zig-zags ever so mildly. In high summer when the grass is high, you have to point your bike at the tracks and just go with it, because you can really only see a few feet in front of you. At the Albion end they do mow it occasionally and it's wide and open.

There used to be a gate at the Conroy end with a no-dumping sign, but its down right now. Either way, this is part of the Hydro corridor that has multiple sections that have soccer fields and pathways that runs pretty much from the Queensway at Walkley and ends at South Keys, before it picks up again at McCarthy Woods.

Again, this has basically no elevation change and the high gradient shown on the image below doesn't actually exist. It's pretty much dead flat. You can ride pretty hard through here when the grass is low. When the grass is high it's taller than a seated rider and it can be a real test of your nerves, especially because plowing through the high grass will cause birds to startle and fly out in front of you, while you try to figure out where the tracks go.
